Event Update

Wow Wow Wow!!!!!

What a brilliant night! It certainly was the Wedding Reception of the Year and I hope you all agree.

The magician was magical, the DJ was fantastic, the cake was fabulous and the venue was perfect!

I just wanted to update everyone that came to the ball and those that supplied prizes or services with how the evening went and what funds we raised, but firstly a bit about the night.

Everyone looked wonderful and I am sorry I did not mention that in my many speeches! With 35 brides in their wedding dresses and everyone else as bridesmaids or looking gorgeous as wedding guests I am sure you will all agree that we looked fabulous!!

Although the raffle was a bit crazy, after selling every single strip we had, which made £600.00, we were left to fold up 3000 tickets for the tombola!!!; The Auction however was a masterpiece and Joff (the hubby of Helen from the committee) was brilliant in his wife’s wedding dress and together with his final strip tease for us it raised £500.00.

I hope you all saw the beautiful Wedding Cake make for us by ‘Cakes by Suzanne’ in Charminster for FREE!! I apologise that we did not get to cut it and give you all a slice but the evening went so fast we just ran out of time. However, I personally delivered it to the Macmillan Cancer Unit in Christchurch the next day and they were all really excited to receive it and were going to put it on the trolley and take it around to show the patients, visitors and staff and give them all a slice with a cup of tea!

So, after the big money count on Saturday afternoon by April and I, we are delighted, excited and pleased to tell you all that we raised a whopping £3800.00 profit, which all goes to Macmillan Cancer Support Dorset.

I am sorry to say that we won’t be organising a ball for next year (concerned that our husbands may leave us!), however, if any of you want to have a go, we would love to attend, so make sure you get in touch and sell us some tickets!!
